CIRCUIT CHURCH PRESENTS: UNCONTROLLED VOLTAGE 3Berz3rkr, Derek Dunn, Ensemble Quelconque, lights in the deer head, Etiosynthesis + live visualsUncontrolled Voltage returns to Wills Pub for its third and most unpredictable edition yet. This time, the night takes live experimental performance to a new level with a deck of custom improvisation cards inspired by Brian Enos Oblique Strategies. Mid-set, each performer will be presented with one randomly chosen cardtransforming the direction of the performance in real time for both artist and audience. The lineup features five Florida-based experimental acts:Berz3rkr From a suburban garage to Orlandos experimental heart, this duo (formed by two dad-neighbors in 2019) conjures sonic mayhem that veers between hypnotic drone and chaotic noise. A collision of modular synths, mangled guitar, and improvised audio carnageequal parts psych freakout and circuit overload. Their roots include Into the Moat and NYCs Brown Wing Overdrive.Derek Dunn A Canadian artist based in Orlando, Dereks sound ranges from ambient to chaotic, unlearned jazz. In projects like Aarons Home and Storage Music Unit, his solo work retools drum kits into synths and spins abstract meditations on guitar. His artistic path? Allegedly sparked by Daddy Day Care.Etiosynthesis Orlandos IDM upstart, also known as Jacob, builds intricate electronica from modular rigs and what not.lights in the deer head An experimental electronic project generating sound primarily from modular synthesizers. Their sets flow between structured songs and free-form improvisation.Ensemble Quelconque (EQ) A free improv collective led by pianist-composer Austin Ashe and neuropharmacologist-percussionist Erik Peden, PhD. With a rotating cast, EQ explores Cagean indeterminacy and sacred sound traditions using instruments like singing bowls, prepared toy pianos, gongs, tuning forks, and drones.Throughout the night, performers will be handed improviser cards with phrases like Call the mothership, Use an instrument incorrectly, or Vibrate. These mid-set curveballs will spark unexpected shifts in the musicpart challenge, part inspiration.Adding a visual layer: five live video artists will mix analog and digital feeds in real-time, responding to the cards and the music as it unfolds.
