Make new friends while singing awesome music with Sweetwater Academy instructor Ariel Stehura. Each session of this audition-free, 13-week class will build your vocal skills as you cover a wide range of choral works in a vibrant ensemble where laughter is loud, harmony is heartfelt, and everyone belongs.
You will:
· Establish and improve foundational music-reading and ear-training skills
· Perform selections from a variety of genres and cultures
· Apply proper singing technique, breath support, and vocal control
· Sing with a relaxed-but-productive team to create a balanced ensemble sound
Ariel Stehura brings her choirs over a decade of teaching and performing experience. After earning her bachelor of music education with a choral emphasis from Bowling Green State University, she taught students K–12 throughout Ohio. She brought excellence, discipline, creativity, and joy to choirs of all ages. The choirs showed excellence over the years, winning multiple awards at the district, regional, and state levels, but her biggest accomplishment was creating a family atmosphere where her choristers built their confidence and felt safe being themselves. She has taken a large interest in child development and has hands-on experience working with children of all abilities through Interlochen Center for the Arts.
