What began as a half-joke about squeezing our band name into holiday puns and forming a show around it with our friends in 2021 has somehow grown into one of Chicago indie musics most cherished December traditions (were as surprised as you are). Weve had the time of our lives celebrating this citys musical scene and sharing an evening of soul-healing tunes and festive chaos with you all and couldnt be more excited about moving the party to Thalia Hall this December. Joining the bill this year are 2 incredible Chicago-based acts that were thrilled ve been with us since year one, or youre considering this year to be your first time attending a Hollyy show, were ready to send your year off right and provide you with your favorite memory of 2025. Rumor has it there may just be a brand new album on this day too...BIO: Lauded as the future of retro rock (CLASH Mag), Chicago-based Hollyy masterfully imparts a sound both grounded in youth and transcendent of it. Since the bands inception, this group of self-proclaimed garage-soul boys has released a collection of breezy singles EPs, and have a 2025 upcoming debut full-length on the way.Flaunting a signature combination of stirring vocals, jazzy instrumentals, and indie rock stylings, its no surprise that Hollyy has been likened to such modern soul powerhouses like St. Paul and the Broken Bones (Atwood Magazine). Aside from headlining their own live shows, Hollyy has opened for several prominent artists, including Jacob Banks and Gwen Stefani. In 2021 they also recorded an Audiotree Live session and began work on their second EP, If Youre Ever Lost.Hollyy features the talents of Tanner Bednar (vocals/guitar), Peter Giere (keyboard), Rafe Soto (drums), Dominic Zeier (bass), Blase Cermak (trumpet) and Nate France (saxophone). And as American Songwriter puts it, even the sharpest nose wont find anything manufactured about their talent. Theyre the real deal.
