New York City meets San Diego: Brooklyn's acclaimed Mark Morris Dance Group returns with a spellbinding program that moves from pure joy to profound reflection. The evening opens with V, a radiant Mark Morris masterpiece set to Robert Schumann's exuberant Piano Quintet in E-flat Major, where soaring music meets irresistibly buoyant, finely detailed choreography. In powerful contrast, Via Dolorosa draws audiences into a haunting, contemplative world set to evocative solo harp music by Nico Muhly and Alice Goodman. Subtitled The Street, the work reimagines the 14 Stations of the Cross through Morris' deeply human storytelling, brought vividly to life by a striking set from painter Howard Hodgkin. A powerful evening of contrast, beauty, and emotional depth awaits!
