While paying homage to Malian musical traditions, this fierce new sound thrives with heavy swinging rhythms, a funky fresh brass section, and cosmic guitar licks. With last years release of their third album, Medicine, this profoundly spiritual and dance-inducing ensemble continues their pursuit of spreading healing and community through the universal gift of music.2023 was a break-through year for OG. OGs festival roster included Newport Folk Festival, Pickathon, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Mill Valley Music Fest, Mucho Gusto Fest and more. On top of touring widely throughout the US, OG also toured Europe for the first time, spending two weeks hitting festivals in Switzerland and Sweden.Orchestra Golds latest studio album Medicine is out now on vinyl, CD and all digital/streaming platforms. Orchestras forthcoming album, Dakan, is slated for release later in 2024.FLAT SUN SOCIETYThe band was formed in Big Sur from a residency vocalist Jake Padorr held during the pandemic at the historic outdoor venue, the Henry Miller Library. This space allowed the band to explore their improvisational sound in front of unassuming Big Sur passersby attending the Library. Jake Padorrs cabin in Big Sur provided the space for their first recordings. The Flat Sun sound has now spread through Santa Cruz, the home area of the rest of the band.Flat Sun Society creates a sonic space for full expression of their audience members; you will catch unique, ecstatic dancing from the audience at any given show. The band has played additional unique and special venues such as the Esalen Institute in Big Sur this year and Burning Man in 2021.Flat Sun Society finds a new niche of psychedelic rock that integrates polyrhythms, ethereal vocals and improvisation. The band is comprised of six friends from Big Sur and Santa Cruz who share a love for creating an immersive experience of sound. Their songs can become a journey full of momentous energy and fantastical moments.Flat Sun has garnered a grass-roots local following in the Santa Cruz area, consistently playing community pop-up concerts in the redwood forests and often at Lighthouse Point on West Cliff in Santa Cruz. In September, the band just played a magical show for the community at Felton Music Hall, a favorite venue among Santa Cruz mountain locals.=====*All sales are final - no refunds*Avoid scammers!
