New Breed Brass Band is reshaping second line music for a new generation. Their latest release, Made In New Orleans, blends traditional brass band sounds with modern influences' from bounce and Caribbean rhythms to No Limit Records and Silk Sonic-era R&B. Featuring guests like Jeff Coffin (Dave Matthews Band), Kango Slim, and the late 5th Ward Weebie, the album reflects the city's deep musical roots and restless creativity. Led by Jenard Andrews, son of trumpeter James Andrews and nephew of Trombone Shorty, the band came up immersed in second line culture. It was Shorty himself who pushed them to find their own sound. "This isn't practicing," he told them. "You're just jamming on some Rebirth. You've gotta find your own thing." They did. And people noticed. New Breed has toured North America and Europe, opening for acts like The Fray, Dr. John, and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue. With Made In New Orleans, they carve out a voice that?s forward-looking and unmistakably their own.
