Peter Rowan is a singer-songwriter with a career spanning over five decades. GRAMMY®-Award winner, member of the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame, and now winner of the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award in Music given by 'Your Roots are Showing' (Ireland). From his early years playing under the tutelage of Bluegrass veteran Bill Monroe, to his time in Old & In the Way alongside Jerry Garcia and David Grisman, and his breakout as a solo musician and bandleader, Rowan has built a devoted, international fan base through a solid stream of recordings, collaborate projects, and constant touring. Sam Grisman Project (SGP) joins Peter Rowan to celebrate the music of Old & In the Way and explore its enduring legacy as well as Rowan's own extensive catalogue. Led by Sam Grisman, a bassist deeply rooted in the tradition of American acoustic music and son of legendary mandolinist David Grisman, the group infuses classic material with fresh energy and dynamic musicianship.
