Rachel Therrien (composer, trumpeter, producer) www.racheltherrien.comFrench-Canadian trumpeter, composer and producer Rachel Therrien boasts an enviable body of work that infuses jazz with Afro-Latin and World Music. Rachels work between New York and Montreal has earned her a reputation as a highly-skilled, versatile and innovative artist. Therrien has produced 7 albums of her own, the most recent, CAPI - Les poemes de Charles Lebel therrien en musique, is an experimental opus inspired on her grand-fathers poetry. The album was produced in collaboration with the Centre dExperimentation Musicale de Chicoutimi and released in April 2024 under record Label Cornes de Brumes. Rachels sixth album, Mi Hogar (with her Latin Jazz Project) was released in February 2023 under the American label Outside in Music and nominated for Jazz Album of the Year at ADISQ 2024. Shes currently preparing the release of Mi Hogar Vol. 2. Her 5th album, VENA, received four stars from Downbeat Magazine and was nominated for a 2021 JUNO Award and an ADISQ award for Jazz Album of the Year. Rachel plays in Arturo OFarrill Grammy-winning Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra; she is a founding member of the JUNO-nominated super-group, The Ostara Project; and a member of the renowned Diva Jazz Orchestra.
