The familiar meets the new in this South Florida Symphony Orchestra standout program, featuring the anticipated Florida premiere of GRAMMY nominee Nathalie Joachim's Had to Be, an intimate exploration of memory and identity, performed by rising cellist Seth Parker Woods. Also making its SFSO premiere is Carlos Simon's Four Black American Dances, a vibrant work filled with cultural reverence. Completing the program led by Maestra Sebrina Alfonso, Mozart's "Haffner" symphony bursts with celebratory energy and elegant precision, while the crowd-pleasing Capriccio espagnol by Rimsky-Korsakov sparkles with irresistible Spanish rhythms.
