Brandee Younger is a trailblazing harpist reshaping the role of the harp in modern music. Revered for her ability to blend traditions from Salzedo to Alice Coltrane, The New York Times calls her 'capable of combining all of the modern harp traditions with strength, grace, and commitment.' In 2022, she made history as the first Black woman nominated for a Grammy® for Best Instrumental Composition and won the 2024 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Jazz Album for Brand New Life. Younger's collaborations with cultural icons like Lauryn Hill, Common, and John Legend showcase her versatility. Her composition 'Hortense' was featured in Beyoncé's Homecoming, and she has performed at Quincy Jones and Steve McQueen's Soundtrack of America. With her groundbreaking album Brand New Life, Younger continues to elevate the harp's place in jazz and popular music, forging new artistic, political, and spiritual paths.
