At The Paley Museum, families can enjoy From Storytime to Screentime, a fun, entertaining, and educational program featuring screenings of beloved TV shows inspired by classic children’s books. The program starts with a cozy story time, where a presenter reads the original book aloud. Afterward, families will watch the TV show adaptation and participate in arts & crafts and activities inspired by the stories. It’s the perfect combination of reading, watching, and playing—only at Paley!
Storytime is free for Paley Members; included in General Admission.

Ada Twist Scientist: “A Fort of One's Own”/“Twelve Angry Birds”
Eight-year-old scientist Ada and her friends use household items to unlock the door to her brother Arthur’s backyard fort, and later must use science to prove family cat’s innocence when she is accused of drinking water from the bird feeder.  

June Arts & Crafts: Happy little birds!
Snack time’s over in Ada Twist’s backyard, and the birds are flying home! With paper, markers, and pipe cleaners, craft your own bird family and tuck them into a warm, cozy nest.

Featuring I Am George Washington by Brad Meltzer, this inspiring story highlights Washington’s courage, leadership, and role in helping shape the nation.

After you take a journey with Ms. Frizzle, make a miniature solar system of your very own! Using a paper cup, scissors, and crayons or markers, draw the sun and the planets working together in solar system harmony.

Oswald and his dog Weenie chase the ice cream truck through the city in search of a sweet treat and later brave the rain while on a camping trip with their friends.
August Arts & Crafts: Pom Pom Ice Cream Cone!
Everyone loves ice cream! Before you have your own sweet treat like Oswald and Weenie, make a fun ice cream cone using cardboard, pom poms, and glue. What flavor will you choose? Pink pom poms for strawberry? Maybe green with sprinkles for mint chip? It’s your choice!

Make your very own little Peter Rabbit—Using a toilet paper roll, paper, scissors, markers, and glue! He could wear the same blue coat you see in the book, or give him new clothes from your imagination.
